((I'll finish it by today, aside from any corrections you may need me to make. Or tomorrow))
Nation: Iceland
Name: Emil Steilsson
Birthday: June 17
Age: 17
Height: 166 cm /5'5
Hair: White
Eyes: Dark Blue
Personality:
Relationships:
Denmark: Denmark tends to treat Iceland as a younger brother, these days, but is not as close to him as Norway. Iceland himself is not very close to Denmark, even after his independence (1944). Because of debts not yet paid and held in tension from early years, the two no longer interact for long periods of time unless at world meetings or when the other Nordics are present. Besides that, they're relationship as nations are healthy
Inf.: cphpost.dk/culture/through-looking-glass/forget-crisis-iceland-survived-500-years-danish-rule
Finland: [[Little information about the two actual countries' relationship. The two do have a cultural foundation for the purpose of cultural exchange and relationship promotion. My headcanon would have to be that some time either before or after The Wordy Nordic comic Emil started to wonder what it would be like to have a stronger personal relationship with Finland]]
Norway:
Iceland considers Norway a very close and important friend, as is canon. Though they are related, Emil hates to think of himself as a younger brother or underling to him. Norway seems to find little to no problem and loaning Iceland money (for which he is grateful) and both their political and personal relationship is healthy
Turkey:
United Kingdom:
Head!Canon:
-Emil has a vacation home in Reykjavík, the only place he can actually feel comfortable and settle down after long meetings or during the Iceland Airwaves (a music festival)
-He is actually terrible at the game chess from lack of anyone to practice with when the other Nordics aren't around ((I imagine Norway would always beat him, Denmark would either never take it seriously or take it much too seriously, and Finland would let him win)), but he does love the game and is always either admiring others as they play or looking for interesting ways to make the game more exciting.
I don't have much reasoning behind this other than that Robert Fischer was a chess prodigy from Iceland, but I couldn't picture (nor could canon confirm) that Iceland himself would be at all good, which is a shame
-Emil talks very rarely to anyone in his native language and even went as far as to have a translator translate what he says from English to Icelandic when possible. His bosses and other officials usually get annoyed by that and make him speak in Icelandic (based on hetalia.kitawiki.net/index.php?title=Iceland#Trivia)
